The EnviroCare Directory has been produced by the EPA as a guide only. While efforts will be made to keep this directory up to date, the EPA cannot guarantee complete accuracy. Introduction
One of the functions of the EPA is to respond to public concerns about environmental issues and incidents which are not being effectively addressed by the appropriate authority. The EPA does not deal with initial reports or respond where the responsible authority has not been given a chance to first respond.
This directory is designed to direct you to the responsible agency, regulatory authority or organisation. In most cases the authority will deal with the matter once it has been brought to their attention.
How to use this directory
Begin by searching the ‘Contents’ list on page 2 to find out which section your environmental issue, area of enquiry or complaint will be in. Go to that section and identify the relevant subsection which will list a phone number or website details of the responsible organisation. To open the link to the web page, place the mouse cursor over the link and click.
Pollution incidents which require urgent attention
If there is a pollution incident requiring urgent attention or causing immediate dangers to public health, call the Pollution Hotline on 1800 064 567. When to contact the EPA
If you have contacted the regulatory authority or responsible organisation regarding an environmental concern, or you are aware the authority has been informed of the matter and you do not believe there has been an adequate response, go to the EPA website’s ‘Reporting an environmental incident or issues’ page: http://www.epa.nt.gov.au/contact-us/reporting-an-environmental-incident-or-issue
